Who is Anglo-American Racing?
Anglo-American Racing is an Isle of Man based LLP that set up and manage Horse Racing Syndicates, Importing racehorses from the United States of America to race in the United Kingdom and Europe.
Who are you regulated by?
We are regulated by the British Horse racing Authority (BHA) who is the governing body for British Horse racing.
What is a Horse Racing Syndicate?
A horse racing syndicate is a collective of individuals that join together to purchase one or more racehorses thus making Racehorse ownership accessible to most as opposed to the Elite.
How are Anglo-American racing syndicates organised?
Anglo-American Racing's syndicates are ‘racing partnerships’ which allow up to 20- 30 individuals to participate in any given syndicate. Anglo-American Racing always retains shares in each syndicate.
How many horses are in each syndicate?
Each Anglo-American Racing syndicate contains up to 5 horses, purchased as yearlings or Two year olds depending on the purchase date as all yearlings become Two year olds on the 1st of January.
How long does each syndicate run for?
Each syndicate will last for Two years.
What happens at the end of each syndicate?
All horses will be sold at the sales and any proceeds will be divided pro-rata between all shareholders of the syndicate. In exceptional cases if the managing shareholders determine it is advantageous, syndicates can be extended.
What shares are available?
Anglo-American Racing offer 1/20th or 1/30th shares in our syndicates. Multiple shares are permitted in these denominations.
Is this an investment?
Horse racing syndicates should definately not be classed as investments, they are purely for entertainment only, and all syndicate members must be aware that there is no guarantee of any profits..
Where are your horses purchased from?
All horses are purchased from the sales at farms in Kentucky, and Florida, U.S.A.
What happens if one or more of my horses wins or is placed in a race?
Such proceeds won by your horses are paid quarterly.
What happens when any horse is sold by the syndicate?
Any proceeds of horse sales will be divided among the owners quarterly.
What is included in the price of a share?
All costs and fees are covered for the life of the syndicate (Two years). The initial payment covers everything, i.e., Training Fees, importation of horses, stake fees, jockey fees, farrier’s costs gallops, vet bills etc.
What are your fees?
Anglo-American Racing retain 20% of each syndicate.
How often can I see my horses train?
By prior appointment it is usually possible to see the progress of your horses at the gallops or the yard anytime.
Do I get free access to the track when any of my horses race?
Most of the time yes, you will usually receive two owners badges on raceday, enabling free entrance to most of the UK tracks, and entrance to the owners enclosure and hopefully the winners enclosure.
Who trains the horses?
We use only the best trainers for our syndicates, when horses are purchased they are allocated to trainers. When horses are allocated the syndicate will be notified accordingly.
Who audits your accounts?
Our accounts are audited by Ocra Worldwide on the Isle of Man who are fully licenced and regulated by the FSC.
